My name is Kara Hartzell and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Social Worker, and am EMDR-trained.
Since becoming a Social Worker, I have worked as a geriatric case manager, a hospice Social Worker and provided in-home psychotherapy for older adults and individuals with disabilities and I now enjoy my time in private practice. Prior to my time as a Social Worker, I worked with college students and helped them successfully make the transition from high school to college.
As a Social Worker and therapist, my goal is to create a safe and supportive environment for clients experiencing life’s transitions and the grief, loss and trauma that often accompanies these transitions. I specialize in helping people who have undergone loss. Whether the loss entails physical or cognitive changes, significant life transitions, or death itself, I provide a secure environment for coping with these difficult emotions.
I value building supportive relationships with my clients. Together, you will learn how to transition from feeling stuck with your current patterns or behaviors. Together, we will help you move towards a place where you can experience more hope, joy, and peace.
