My name is Kara Hartzell, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, an Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Social Worker, and EMDR-trained.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the honor of walking alongside people through some of life’s most challenging transitions. I’ve worked as a geriatric case manager, a hospice social worker, and provided in-home psychotherapy for older adults and individuals with disabilities. Before becoming a Social Worker, I also supported college students as they transitioned from high school to college—another unique and meaningful life shift.
Today, I’m grateful to offer support through my private practice, where I focus on building strong, compassionate relationships with my clients. Whether you’re feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns, navigating grief, or facing overwhelming change, we’ll work together to help you move toward a place of greater hope, joy, and peace.
As a therapist, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore, heal, and grow. I specialize in helping people cope with grief and loss in all its forms—whether that’s the death of a loved one, a significant life transition, or the physical or cognitive changes that come with aging or illness. Whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to face it alone. I’m here to help you find strength, meaning, and healing—on your terms.
