Trauma and PTSD

What you’re going through.
You may find yourself reacting strongly to situations that others seem to handle with ease, and you might not fully understand why.
Certain memories, images, or sensations can feel vivid and intrusive, even when you try to push them away. You may feel constantly on guard, easily startled, emotionally numb, or disconnected from people you care about.
It can be frustrating and even frightening to feel like your body and mind are responding to something that happened long ago as if it is still happening now.
How trauma and PTSD counseling can help.
Trauma counseling offers a safe and structured way to process what happened without feeling overwhelmed or re-traumatized.
Together, we work toward helping your nervous system recognize that the danger has passed, even if your body still feels on alert. You can begin to understand your triggers, respond to them with greater steadiness, and experience fewer intrusive reactions.
Over time, many people notice a greater sense of calm, emotional flexibility, and the ability to stay present in their daily lives.
My approach to therapy for trauma and PTSD.
My approach to trauma is steady, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care.
I am EMDR-trained, which allows us to gently reprocess distressing memories so they feel less charged and intrusive over time. I also draw from attachment-based and relational therapy to help you understand how trauma may have shaped your beliefs about safety, trust, and connection.
We move at a pace that respects your nervous system, prioritizing safety and stability throughout the process.

Who is this for?
This work is for adults who have experienced traumatic events, whether recent or long ago, and notice that the impact is still present in their daily lives. Trauma can stem from a single incident, medical events, caregiving stress, relational wounds, or cumulative losses over time. You do not need a formal diagnosis of PTSD to benefit from trauma-focused therapy.
If certain memories, triggers, or patterns feel difficult to manage on your own, this space may offer the support you have been looking for.
