Support for Caregivers

What you’re going through.
You may feel pulled in a hundred directions, trying to manage appointments, medications, decisions, and the emotional weight of watching someone you love change.
There can be guilt for feeling frustrated, sadness for what has been lost, and pressure to stay strong for everyone else. You might notice exhaustion that goes beyond physical tiredness and a sense that your own needs have slowly moved to the bottom of the list.
It can feel isolating to carry so much responsibility while also grieving the life you and your loved one once had.
How counseling can help support caregivers.
Caregiver counseling offers you a space where your needs matter just as much as the person you are caring for.
Together, we can untangle the mix of love, resentment, grief, and exhaustion that often coexist in this role. You can learn practical ways to manage stress, set boundaries, and respond to difficult emotions without feeling consumed by them.
Over time, many caregivers begin to feel more balanced, more supported, and better able to care for their loved one without abandoning themselves.
My approach to support for caregivers.
My work with caregivers is deeply informed by my experience in hospice and geriatric case management, where I supported families navigating complex medical and emotional decisions.
I use a relational approach that allows you to speak openly about the parts of caregiving that feel heavy, complicated, or even contradictory. Drawing from attachment-based and grief-informed therapy, we make space for both your love for this person and the losses you may be experiencing alongside them.
If past experiences or unresolved stress are intensifying your reactions, we can also integrate EMDR to help your nervous system feel more settled and supported.

Who is this for?
This work is for adults who are caring for an aging parent, spouse, partner, or family member facing illness or disability. Many caregivers come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, conflicted, or unsure how much longer they can sustain this pace. You may love the person deeply and still feel exhausted, resentful, or alone at times.
If you are longing for support that honors both your devotion and your humanity, this space may be right for you.
What caregivers can expect in counseling.
We begin by slowing down enough to understand what caregiving is asking of you right now and where you feel most depleted. From there, we focus on creating practical and emotional support so you can care for your loved one without losing yourself.Naming the Weight

Meeting you where you are.
I offer in-person counseling in Dallas for caregivers who need a quiet space away from daily responsibilities to reflect and recharge.
I also provide online therapy throughout Texas, which can make support more accessible when your schedule is full or leaving home feels difficult.
However we meet, my goal is to create a steady, understanding space where you can lay down the weight you’ve been carrying and feel supported in return.
