Grief & Loss

Grief may change you, but it does not have to leave you broken. Whether you are mourning a death, a divorce, a diagnosis, or the loss of the life you thought you would have, grief can make everything feel unfamiliar. Together, we can create space for what you are carrying and help you find steadier ground as you move forward in a way that honors your loss and your healing.
Man Going Through Grief and Loss

What you’re going through.

Grief can feel unpredictable and overwhelming, showing up in waves that catch you off guard.

You may feel deep sadness one moment and anger, numbness, or guilt the next, and it can be confusing to hold so many emotions at once. Everyday tasks might feel heavier, your sleep may be disrupted, and you may wonder if you will ever feel like yourself again.

It can also feel lonely when others expect you to be “doing better” while your heart is still trying to understand what has changed.

How counseling can help with grief & loss.

Grief counseling gives you a place where your loss does not need to be minimized, rushed, or explained away.

Together, we make room for the pain while also helping you find ways to live alongside it without feeling consumed. You can learn how to respond to waves of sadness, anger, or guilt with more steadiness and self-understanding.

Over time, many people begin to experience moments of connection, meaning, and even hope, while still honoring the love and loss that shaped them.

My approach to therapy for grief & loss.

My work with grief is shaped by my years in hospice and bereavement care, where I learned that loss is never one-size-fits-all.

I use a relational and attachment-based approach that allows us to gently explore your story, your connection to what was lost, and how this loss is affecting your sense of identity. Drawing from grief therapy, existential principles, and when appropriate EMDR, we can process painful memories and the beliefs that may have formed around them.

I am comfortable sitting with the hard emotions and honest conversations that grief brings, and I will walk with you at a pace that feels steady and respectful.

Finding Happiness beyond Grief

Who is this for?

This space is for anyone who is grieving the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a life-limiting diagnosis, or a loss of independence. Many of the people I work with are in midlife or later adulthood, but grief does not follow age limits. If you feel untethered, overwhelmed, or unsure how to carry both love and loss at the same time, you are not alone in that experience.

You do not need to have the “right words” or a clear plan for healing to begin this work.

What to expect in grief counseling.

We begin by creating space for your story and honoring the depth of your loss without trying to fix or rush it. From there, we move gently toward understanding how grief is showing up in your daily life and what support feels most helpful right now.
